In 1911, ground was broken and the foundation was laid for King County parcel # 882390-1695 of the University Park Addition. Over the last century, this domicile has been host to all manner of ruffians, riff-raff, and rabble-rousers, and has truly come to be considered the crown jewel of 18th Ave NE. You are invited to join us in celebrating the storied history of this creaky old house of lust and intrigue, and envision the futuristic developments of the coming century.

Max and Rachel and their veggie oil bus, Ollie, recently chugged through Seattle and made a stop at Sherwood as part of their journey up the West Coast. Along the way they have been jumping into dumpsters, checking out intentional communities and blogging about it all!
Check out their post on Sherwood!

The co-op got a lovely shout-out today on Cascadia Solidaria, the excellent blog of beloved (and badass) Sherwood alum and human rights activist, Phil Neff, who blessed us with a visitation in February. Definitely worth checking out!
Take care, Phil! <3
Cooperative Living In Seattle is a funky, decade-old documentary by Sherwood alum Giorgia Aiello that explores the city’s vibrant collective housing movement of the time (that’s still alive today!). If you were connected to this scene back in the day or if you are a co-op history/nostalgia nerd (like some of us), you may just get a kick out of it!
Happy New Year!

We try to make our home a safe space, and to minimize the presence of transphobia, racism, ableism, sexism, and homophobia. In our house, it is always important to call people by their preferred gender pronouns. To help with that, we’ll have name/pronoun tags for everyone to write down their names and pronouns if they feel comfortable doing so.

Dear friends lovers strangers wonders of Seattle and beyond,
Sunflowers are smiling over the kitchen table at Sherwood and we would like to smile with you next Thursday the 26th.
New and old co-op loves are passing through our doors. This is Helen’s last potluck before she moves across the country, and Michael, Irene, and Erin are soon to have their paths taking their feet in different directions.
…
Lets play as the sun goes down and warm our hearts with the sound of music, laughter and conversation. Maybe some of us will steal plums from our neighbor’s yard! (shhh don’t tell!)
Vegan or vegetarian dishes would be lovely.
And musical instruments too!
WHEN: Thursday Aug 26th at 7pm
WHERE: at our house 4746 18th Ave NE in the u district
